Nominees Announced for 2021 Drama League Awards, Honoring Digital and Socially-Distanced Theatre Across the Country
The Drama League has just announced the 2021 Nominees and Special Recognition Honorees for The 87th Annual Drama League Awards. Keeping in the tradition of honoring the outstanding accomplishments of the theatrical community, as they have since 1935, this year the organization has established five unique categories to honor the extraordinary achievements of artists across the nation who created digital and socially-distanced theatrical productions during this challenging year of suspension for live arts.

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry and the UConn Puppet Arts Program will present the 2017UConn Fall Puppet Slam on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. in UConn's Nafe Katter Theatre. The UConn Fall Puppet Slam will feature short works by professional puppeteers and performers, including Lone Wolf Tribe, Veronica Barron, and Isaac Bloodworth, as well as new works for puppet and object theater by students from UConn's School of Fine Arts.

Huntington Theatre Company and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) mark Ether Day today, October 16, in recognition of the 168th anniversary that ether anesthesia was first used during surgery. The groundbreaking medical advancement was achieved by dentist William T. G. Morton during a procedure performed by Dr. John C. Warren at Boston's own MGH. MGH celebrates Ether Day annually, honoring its employees for their years of service.
