Artists for Creative Theatre presents Sofrito for Puerto Rico Fundraiser, featuring the solo show Organic Sofrito or Other Recipes for Disaster. The one - night only benefit performance will take place at The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center on Monday, March 19th from 7 pm to 9 pm at 107 Suffolk St NYC 100 % of the proceeds will be donated to The Maria Fund. Local vendors and rare prizes and a performance by poet Taina Delamar will also round out the evening.

Actress Lauren Stanford Wins 2013 MetroStar Talent Challenge
The actress Lauren Stanford pulled off a dramatic win last night, as she became the 2013 MetroStar at the Metropolitan Room in New York. A Kansas City native with musical theatre credits, Stanford edged out her four co-finalists in tight scoring that belied how strong and evenly matched this year's MetroStar Talent Challenge Top 5 had become.
2013 MetroStar Talent Challenge Announces Top 5 Finalists; Set for 8/19 at the Met Room
After a highly competitive semi-final round of the 'MetroStar Talent Challenge' at The Metropolitan Room last night, five finalists were picked to move forward in the 7-week singers' competition. The five finalists, who will go head to head next Monday, August 19, are Stephen Mitchell Brown, Venessa Diaz, Jason Morris, Tony Ponella and Lauren Stanford.

Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia.
