BWW Review: MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL at The Playhouse
by Greer Firestone - May 7, 2018
I always felt that the Beatles' songS of peace and love had as much to do with the fall of communism as much as Pres. Reagan's 1987 Berlin prouncement, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall".

BWW Review: MOTOWN THE MUSICAL at Times Union Center
by Jordan Higginbotham - Mar 12, 2018
Motown the Musical is a musical unlike any other. The history of Motown Records takes place between 1957 and 1983. Audience members will recognize the music whether they were a part of this time period or not. I was born in 1996 and went into the production not knowing the history of Motown Records, but I could name a number of the songs included. On the other hand, there were audience members who were singing along to the entire musical and remembered moments from it. As an audience member who did not know the history of Motown, the production opened my eyes to the impact the music has had. A musical that brings generations together through music, history, and unity of humankind.

"Reach out and touch somebody's hand, make this world a better place if you can." With its incredible opportunities for audience participation, the cast of Motown the Musical did just that at their performance on March 7th. Stopping for one night in Jackson, Mississippi, the tour made the world a better place for the theatre-goers in the audience of Thalia Mara Hall.
BWW Review: MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL Is An Uplifting Blast From The Past!
by Alyson Eng - Feb 8, 2018
The minute the curtain was raised and a familiar tune of the Four Tops reached my ears, I knew that both the audience and I were going to be dancing in our seats all night. Throughout the evening, the audience was serenaded with many hits such as the sweet sound of The Temptations singing 'My Girl' and the classic song 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours' by the incredible Stevie Wonder. There was not one moment in the show that I did not absolutely adore.
BWW Review: MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL at Fred Kavli Theatre
by Cary Ginell - Jan 26, 2018
'Motown: The Musical' is, plain and simply, Berry Gordy's revenge on
'Dreamgirls.' After getting displayed in a negative fashion in that show, Gordy decided to create his own version of his career, painting himself in noble colors.
