The International Association of Blacks in Dance in partnership with dance Immersion announced the sensational lineup of performers for the 33rd Annual International Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance, Globally Connected: What Does Our Tomorrow Hold?, being held on January 25-29, 2023 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The 42nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards were handed out in front of an enthusiastic audience tonight at The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre in the Elgin Theatre. Hosted by award-winning actor and director, Sabryn Rock, the gala ceremony celebrated excellence in Toronto theatre, dance and opera. The ceremony, which unfolded with characteristic razzle-dazzle, caps one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of Toronto performing arts.
Canadian Stage Adds Dan Mangan, Hawksley Workman, KUNE, and Martha Wainwright To Summer Music Series

In the summer of 2021, as live performance slowly began again after a long hiatus, Canadian Stage brought the beloved High Park Amphitheatre back to life with a robust program of live theatre, music, dance, and film presented in collaboration with nineteen partner organizations and including twenty-one productions and events, engaging over 150 artists, and welcoming over 13,000 audience members – all re-connecting communities around the dream of live performance.
Montreal International Dance Festival Announces Artists and Program Schedule
After months of preparation, Infini D, a non-profit organization, unveil the complete program and the participating artists for the first edition of the Montreal International Dance Festival (FidMtl) which will be held from November 18 to 22, 2020. After several delays and change of programming, all events on the schedule of this new festival in the greater metropolitan region will be held in virtual mode and all for free!
Anandam Dancetheatre And Theatre Passe Muraille Present EPHEMERAL ARTIFACTS
Using tap dance and storytelling to explore the history of tap and jazz in connection to the experiences of black bodies, Anandam Dancetheatre Productions with the support of Theatre Passe Muraille, presents the Toronto theatre premiere of EPHEMERAL ARTIFACTS. Originally created in 2017 by Brandy Leary, this edition is co-created with Travis Knights, as an elastic and expansive work exploring the dancing body as an archive of history, identity and contemporaneity. EPHEMERAL ARTIFACTS is playing April 16 to May 9, 2020 (Opening night April 21) at the Theatre Passe Muraille Backspace Theatre.
Quebec's ELAN (English Language Arts Network) Celebrates 15 Years
On Monday, August 26th, ELAN will be celebrating 15 years of serving the English-speaking arts community of Québec. ELAN's 15th anniversary AGM and party at the Rialto Theatre (5723 park Ave.) will be a celebration of Québec's flourishing English-language arts community, featuring a slideshow of memorable moments and people, performances by ELAN members, and a booklet of photos and stories commemorating ELAN's first 15 years. The AGM and Anniversary Party are open to both members and the general public.
Anandam Dancetheatre Presents CONTEMPORANEITY 3.0
CONTEMPORANEITY 3.0 is a new presenting series by Anandam Dance theatre in partnership with Toronto Dance Theatre, featuring new works and works-in-progress by artists practicing in Asian, African, Latin American, Arab and Indigenous dance forms. CONTEMPORANEITY 3.0 features dance pieces by NOVA DANCE (Toronto), MIX MIX DANCE COLLECTIVE (Toronto), and PADMINI CHETTUR (India). This new series will be presented April 3 - 6, 2019 at Toronto Dance Theatre.

Toffan Rhythm Projects presents the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL TAP DANCE FESTIVAL
With roots in percussive dance traditions such as African tribal dance and Irish jigs, tap dance became popularized on the vaudeville stage. Over the decades, tap dancing has taken on many forms but it has never lost its focus on the musicality of dance. International headlining acts Heather Cornell and Ted Louis Levy represent opposite ends of tap's spectrum; one uses the sounds of their tap shoes striking the floor as percussion, the other performs accompanied by music in its full force.
