TDF Names Deeksha Gaur As Executive Director
The Board of Trustees of TDF, one of the country's foremost not-for-profit service organizations for the performing arts, has named Deeksha Gaur to the post of Executive Director. Ms. Gaur is a co-founder and the current General Manager of Show-Score, a theatre reviews platform. She will assume her duties at TDF on August 7.
TDF Hopes to Re-Open Times Square TKTS in September
While most Broadway shows are gearing up to return this fall, TDF is making plans for a re-opening of its own. Executive Director Tory Bailey revealed in a recent letter to members that TKTS, which has been closed since Broadway shut down, is hoping to re-open its Times Square location in September.

Whitney Estrin Named TDF Director Of Development
TDF (aka Theatre Development Fund) has announced that Whitney Estrin will assume the post of Director of Development. The announcement was made by TDF's Executive Director, Victoria Bailey. Ms. Estrin, who will assume her duties on April 1, is being promoted from the position of Deputy Director of Development she currently holds at TDF. She came to TDF in 2017 having been the Director of Development at Theatre for a New Audience in Brooklyn.
27 Writers Of 9 New Musicals Announced For Rhinebeck Writers Retreat
Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the 27 writers of nine new musicals for Rhinebeck Writers Retreat's summer weeklong residencies. This year's artists include Obie-winner Heather Christian, Kleban-winner Brian Crawley, TV and film writers Bekah Brunstetter (THIS IS US) and Cinco Paul (DESPICABLE ME), inaugural Stephen Schwartz Award winner Oliver Houser, and ASCAP Foundation scholarship winner Khiyon Hursey. The musicals cover a wide range of subjects. Four have LGBTQ themes: a historical look at Florida in the 1950s (IN A SUNSHINE STATE), a Palestinian/Israeli love story (BORDERS), a modern coming of age of a young black man (SEAN'S STORY PART I | THE AWAKENING), and a fantasy queer rock musical celebrating lady love (TL;DR: THELMA LOUISE; DYKE REMIX). Two are darkly comedic historical musicals: one featuring Mary Magdelene (A.D. 16) and the second a WWII plot to foil Hitler (OPERATION MINCEMEAT). Other subjects include the opioid crisis (ALMOST HEAVEN), the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 (THE GOLDEN SPIKE), and a mystery involving a woman with a sleep disorder (NARCOLEPSY).
Anne Trites Named New Director of Development at TDF
Theatre Development Fund (TDF), one of the country's foremost not-for-profit service organizations for the performing arts, has announced that Anne Trites will assume the post of Director of Development. The announcement was made by TDF's Executive Director, Victoria Bailey. Ms. Trites, who will begin her duties on June 30, has held the positions of Director of Marketing and Communications/Professor (adjunct) of Theatre Management, Yale School of Drama/Yale Repertory Theatre and Director of Development and Communications at The Canadian Stage Company.
TDF Names Daniel Renner as Director of Education
Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, has named Daniel Renner to the position of Director of Education. Mr. Renner, who is one of the country's leading theatre arts educators, is currently the Dean of the National Theatre Conservatory and Director of Education for the Denver Center of the Performing Arts.
