The Bessie Awards Announces 2017 Nominees
The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, today announced the nominees for the 2016?17 season at the Bessies press conference. The nominees were selected by the Bessie Awards Selection Committee, an independent committee of 38 dance industry professionals. Bessie Award categories include Outstanding Production, Outstanding Revived Work, Outstanding Performer, Outstanding Music Composition or Sound Design, and Outstanding Visual Design. The list of nominations follows.

Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) is back November 1-5 in five venues: Teater Jakarta, Graha Bhakti Budaya, Teater Kecil (Taman Ismail Marzuki) Teater Luwes (Jakarta Arts Institute) and Jakarta Art Building. MELBOURNE, TUESDAY 12 JULY 2016 - The collective stories of six champions of Western Sydney's underground Parkour community will be brought to the Fairfax Studio stage in Jump First, Ask Later from 2 - 6 August. Directed by acclaimed choreographer Byron Perry, the work is an urban choreographic portrait of Western Sydney, the most culturally diverse region in Australia.

In a world premiere double bill, choreographer Melanie Lane presents Remake, and choreographer Jo Lloyd in collaboration with performance maker Nicola Gunn present Mermermer - two works born from unique collaborations and a shared fascination for the histories embedded in another's body.
