Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center's Latino Bookstore Presents Its Texas Author Series Featuring Xavier Garza. December 2

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center's (GCAC) Latino Bookstore Fall/Winter Series will dedicate its December, Friday Texas Author Series to writer and visual artist, Xavier Garza, who will read from his book, “Vincent Ventura and the Curse of the Weeping Woman.” He is also author of 'Charro Claus' and the 'Tejas Kid' (English and Spanish edition). The Latino Bookstore will also feature an exhibit of his visual art in the Progresso Building Gallery.  

Alley Theatre's Virtual Stage Presents a Collection of Contemporary Plays for the Spring

 The Alley Theatre will present a variety of contemporary plays as a part of the Alley’s Spring 2021 Digital Season. Written by Alley All New alumni and a Houston-based author, the plays include El Chuco Town Forever by Isaac Gómez (April 2 – May 2, 2021), Man. Kind. by Don X. Nguyen (April 9 – May 9, 2021), and more.

2018 Conference Highlights Arts Partnerships For Diverse Learning Needs

As part of National Arts-in-Education Week, the Houston Arts Partners Conference will be held on Sept. 14 and 15, 2018, at the Klein Multipurpose Center. Through this annual arts-in-education conference, public school districts and Houston's outstanding arts organizations provide arts advocacy tools and arts integration strategies to K-12 educators, district leaders, teaching artists, and parents.

Long Beach Playhouse Announces New Staff

Andrew Vonderschmitt, Executive and Producing Artistic Director at the Long Beach Playhouse is leaving for an exciting new position as Program Director for the Arts Council of El Dorado County. On Monday, November 28, the Playhouse board of directors voted to name Madison Mooney its Executive Director.
