With their friends in trouble, the fairytale characters of Toyland are preparing for battle. M&M Stage Productions presents the charming holiday musical "Babes in Toyland" at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre in November. Dates and show times for this family classic are Fridays, Nov. 18 and 25 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Nov. 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Nov. 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Nov. 18.
Singer, Actress and Broadway Star Eydie Gormé Dies at 84
Famed singer, actress and Broadway star Eydie Gormé has died at age 84. Spokesperson Howard Bragman said 'Legendary singer and performer Eydie Gorme passed away peacefully today at Sunrise Hospital following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her husband, son and other loved ones at the time of her death.'
In his own statement, Steve Lawrence said: 'Eydie has been my partner on stage and in life for more than 55 years. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and even more the first time I heard her sing. While my personal loss is unimaginable, the world has lost one of the greatest pop vocalists of all time.'

Stages Repertory Theatre's PANTO MOTHER GOOSE is their fifth original "panto" production, and this new tradition has become quite the holiday favorite in Houston. For those who may not know, "panto" is a British tradition of winter musical comedy theater that puts a fresh, raucous spin on fairy tales by injecting the familiar stories with references to contemporary culture and encourages audience interaction (i.e. cheering for the heroes and booing the villains every time they enter the performance space). The product is a fun, lively performance that is fun for the whole family.
