20th Annual DANCE CAMERA WEST Festival to Run March 24 - April 2

After a COVID postponement in January 2022, it's time for the Twentieth Season of Dance Camera West when the world renowned festival will screen the top 75 films selected from a record number of 400 submissions from March 24 - April 2, 2022 at Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz and the newly founded 2220 Arts & Archives (formerly The Bootleg Theater).

The treasured tale by Hans Christian Andersen of a wise bird that helps save a kingdom gets a new twist in this adaptation set in 18th-century China. The West Coast Premiere of The Emperor's Nightingale by Damon Chua, directed by Tim Dang, opens May 4th and runs through May 19th at the Lewis Family Playhouse. Tickets are priced at $18.00 for General admission, and $16.00 for Seniors and Youth up to age 12.

These are some of the questions that will be answered with joyful exuberance when the beloved 1968 Caldecott Honor Book comes to life on stage!  Frederick, based on Leo Lionni's book about a poet mouse who stores up something special for the long winter, opens at the Lewis Family Playhouse on May 5th, and runs through May 20th.
