BIO

Tom Stuart is a singer, actor, lyricist and bookwriter who has worked with some of the finest Broadway professionals, including: Susan Stroman (Director -The Producers), Des McAnuff (Director-Jersey Boys), Stephen Oremus (Musical Supervisor-Wicked), Wayne Cilento (Choreographer-Wicked), Paul Gemignani (Musical Director-Original Sweeney Todd), Phil McKinley (Director- The Boy from OZ) and has appeared opposite some of Broadway’s best leading ladies, including Emily Skinner, Jenn Colella, and TONY Award winners Kristin Chenoweth and Sutton Foster.

Tom’s first New York job was in was the Sullivan Street production of THE FANTASTICKS Off-Broadway. Other notable credits include playing Young Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Madison Square Garden, touring as understudy to Donny Osmond and Sam Harris in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, creating the role of Jonathan Harker in Frank Wildhorn’s DRACULA and originating the part of Dorian Grey in DORIAN opposite Sutton Foster.

In addition to acting, Tom created the '80s pop musical, KIDS IN AMERICA, which premiered at the Triad Theatre in NYC in 2002 and was produced regionally under the title I WANT MY '80S MUSICAL. He also wrote book, music and lyrics for the original musical STAR OF THE HEARTLAND and wrote the book for prog-rock musical RAINBOW AROUND THE SUN which premiered at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2009. In 2010 he began and ongoing and successful collaboration with composer Jeff Hardy and became a founding member of ONE Healing Arts Company, a Non-Profit Theatre dedicated to opening heart, mind and body through new theatrical work. An evening of songs by Tom and composer Stuart McMeans was presented in January of 2011 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre and that same month several of Tom’s songs were included in SONGS OF SPIRIT a concert of songs by emerging musical theatre writers at Joe’s Pub in January 2011. He is an advanced member of the BMI Musical Theatre Writers Workshop, a student of Craig Carnelia, a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and a member of the Dramatists Guild and The Actors Equity Association.

Brendan O'Hea returns to direct Globe on Tour, where a company of eight actors will once again offer audiences around the world a trio of plays which this year explore the themes of refuge and displacement. Continuing last summer's experiment, which revived the Shakespearean tradition of allowing audiences to vote for the play they'd like to see, this year's audiences will cast their votes for The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night or Pericles, all stories of lost families, new homes, and what it means to belong. The tour will return to the Globe stage for Refugee Week (17 - 23 June) as part of a wider programme of events in which refugee artists, performers and audiences will all share their stories.
Shakespeare's Globe Announces Summer Season 2019

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce the Summer Season 2019. Celebrating and interrogating our 'sceptred isle' through Shakespeare's history plays, a year-long journey begins with Richard II, opening 22 February in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, continuing into the Globe Theatre this summer with Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. The season also includes A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ben Jonson's Bartholomew Fair, and the return of 2018's As You Like It. Robin Hood tales will form the core of the Read Not Dead series this year, and festivals throughout the summer include Women & Power and Poland is Hamlet. This year's Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production will be Romeo and Juliet, opening on 28 February, with 20,000 free tickets available to state secondary schools. The Shakespeare's Globe Touring Ensemble will once again present a trio of plays for the audience to choose from: The Comedy of Errors, Pericles, and Twelfth Night.
