Shine Away will offer two days of curated programming, bespoke activations, and conversations with top talent across media, literature, and more, including Tatyana Ali, Dr. Thais Aliabadi, Brooke Baldwin, Andi Bartz, Ellen Bennett, Sara Blakely, Julia Boorstin, Kate Bowler, Lauren Ling Brown, Sydney Carter, and more.

LEGALLY BLONDE Prequel Series ELLE in the Works from Prime Video
At its inaugural upfront presentation, Prime Video announced that it has ordered the Legally Blonde prequel series Elle from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media. Creator Laura Kittrell is set as showrunner and executive producer, with Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt also serving as executive producers. Elle follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.

'The Script in the Closet,' a new farce written and directed by Joyce Griffen, follows the misadventures and jealousies of a Pulitzer Prize-winning, husband-and-wife writing team who discover untitled pages of a mystery screenplay on their shared laptop. Catch the show from March 1 to 17, 2024 at La MaMa E.T.C. (Downstairs Theatre), 66 East Fourth Street.

Performances will take place at the Theatre at St. Jean's on New York's Upper East Side (150 East 76th St. at Lexington Ave), Nov. 4-12.

One audience member in particular may have a distinct advantage: the show's composer, lyricist, and book writer, Rupert Holmes (honored with Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score of a Musical when the show premiered on Broadway in 1985), who will attend the show at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and give a talk-back following the performance.
