NH Theatre Project Presents WINTER SOLSTICE IN STORY AND SONG On Demand

New Hampshire Theatre Project is presenting The Winter Solstice in Story and Song on demand through the month of December to celebrate the holidays this year.  Genevieve Aichele, NHTP Executive Director says of this production, “In this time, when the dark of night comes so early and stays so long, this beautiful performance brings light and hope, what a wonderful metaphor for us all.”

Back by popular demand, New Hampshire Theatre Project will once again celebrate the winter solstice with master storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan.

After last year's sold-out performance, New Hampshire Theatre Project will once again celebrate the winter solstice with master storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan. Join us on the longest night of the year for haunting legends of light, entertaining tales and traditional music and song. Spoken word and theatre artist Diane Edgecomb brings to life the ancient myths that reveal the deep meaning behind winter holiday traditions.

After last year's sold-out performance, New Hampshire Theatre Project will once again celebrate the winter solstice with master storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan. Join us on the longest night of the year for haunting legends of light, entertaining tales and traditional music and song. Spoken word and theatre artist Diane Edgecomb brings to life the ancient myths that reveal the deep meaning behind winter holiday traditions. Featured stories include the Scandinavian Legend of the Mistletoe, the Greek myth The Coming of the Days of Peace, the Cherokee tale of Evergreen, and humorous English Wassail traditions. Margot Chamberlain and Tom Megan accompany the tales with instrumental melodies along with traditional and original songs evoking the warmth of the season.

THE KID WHO WOULD BE POPE by brothers Tom and Jack Megan received the 2013 Richard Rodgers Studio Production Award and Ars Nova produced the corresponding workshop presentations. 46 Writers Head to JMF Annual Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals

A total of 46 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus in East Haddam, CT this month to participate in the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing nearly 30 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

The winners of the 2013 Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater were announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which administers the Rodgers Awards. The winning musicals are: Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, and The Kid Who Would Be Pope by Tom and Jack Megan. Both shows were awarded studio productions.
