2018 LMGI Awards To Honor Location Pros Rino Pace And Josh Karan
Honorees for the 5th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards (LMGI) were announced today by LMGI President Eric Klosterman. New York based location manager JOSH KARAN (ALSAM founder) will take home the Trailblazer Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award will honor Canadian Location Manager RINO PACE (Inception, Deadpool, Unforgiven).
Nominees Announces for the 5th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards
Nominees for the Location Managers Guild International's (LMGI) 5th Annual Awards were announced today by LMGI president Eric Klosterman. The awards honor productions in feature films, television programs and commercials from around the globe, in which the creative use of filming locations enhances or helps to drive the storyline. The LMGI Awards also recognize outstanding service by Film Commissions for their support “above and beyond” during the production process. Winners will be revealed during a formal ceremony on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) announced the winners of its 4th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards tonight. The event honored the outstanding and creative international contributions of location professionals and film commissions in seven categories of film, television and commercials. The black-tie awards ceremony took place at the Steven J. Ross Theater at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank before an audience of 500, including LMGI members, industry executives and press. Dinner Party Download's Rico Gagliano served as host.
Winning Writers Awards Jude Nutter and Marilyn Taylor $1,500 Each for Outstanding Poetry

Jude Nutter of St. Paul, Minnesota won the Tom Howard Prize of $1,500 for a poem in any style or genre, for 'The Shipping Forecast'. Marilyn L. Taylor of Madison, Wisconsin won the Margaret Reid Prize of $1,500 for a poem that rhymes or has a traditional style, for 'The Seven Very Liberal Arts: A Crown of Sonnets'. 2,435 entries were received from around the world.
Winning Writers Awards Announces Inaugural North Street Book Prizes for Excellence in Self-Publishing
Winning Writers is pleased to announce the results from its first annual North Street Book Prize competition for self-published books. Jenna Leigh Evans of Brooklyn, NY won first prize in Genre Fiction for her novel Prosperity. Gloria Taylor Weinberg of Fort Pierce, FL won first prize in Mainstream/Literary Fiction for her novel A Homicide in Hooker's Point. Elizabeth Kirschner of Kittery Point, ME won first prize in Creative Nonfiction/Memoir for her memoir Waking the Bones. We received 400 entries from around the world.
13th Annual Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest is Launched
Now in its 13th year, the international Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest will award $1,500 for a poem in any style and $1,500 for a poem that rhymes or has a traditional style. 10 Honorable Mentions will receive $100 each. The top twelve entries will be published on WinningWriters.com and announced in the Winning Writers newsletter, which has over 50,000 subscribers.
