PBS Announces 'Ken Burns Presents The Gene: An Intimate History,' New Collaboration with Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D. Three-Hour Documentary to Premiere Spring 2020
Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS announced KEN BURNS PRESENTS THE GENE: AN INTIMATE HISTORY, a new three-hour documentary executive produced by Ken Burns, will premiere over three nights in Spring 2020 on PBS. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D., and acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns will collaborate on the new documentary inspired by Mukherjee's best-selling 2016 book, The Gene: An Intimate History. Award-winning filmmaker Barak Goodman will produce and, in addition to Burns and Goodman, the film will largely have the same production team behind the Emmy Award-nominated CANCER: THE EMPEROR OF ALL MALADIES, an adaption of Mukherjee's earlier 2010 book that aired in 2015 on PBS.
Fractured Theatre @ WTG Announces Auditions for FAT PIG and CLUE: THE MUSICAL
WTG launches a new series of plays under the name of Fractured Theatre @ WTG. This series will feature well-written plays and musicals that for one reason or another don't fit into the Main Stage Season. The productions will be small and simple to start and will offer WTG performers and audience members new and exciting opportunities. The play will be Fat Pig by Neil LeBute with performances on March 2, 3, & 4, 2018.
Schoolhouse Arts Center Announces Cast for CLUE
The Schoolhouse Arts Center is excited to announce the cast of "Clue, the Musical¸" its fall 2016 production, which includes a mix of Schoolhouse veterans and newcomers. Yes, the popular board game has come to the stage with a book by Peter DePietro, the music is by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker, and Vinnie Martucci, and the lyrics are by Tom Chiodo. The production is guided by two theater veterans, director Josie French of Lewiston, and musical director Rebecca Caron of Lewiston.
BWW Review: Desert Theatreworks' Murder Plot in CLUE THE MUSICAL is a Hoot to Solve
CLUE THE MUSICAL, as interpreted by director Lance Phillips-Martinez and music director Joel Baker, Desert Theatreworks' production is a great deal of family-friendly fun. Mr. Phillips-Martinez and Ashley Hernandez (who also plays the multiply-widowed Mrs. Peacock) have provided superb choreography. Add an excellent cast, a terrific musician (Brian Alec Thom), and the twist of giving the audience the opportunity to solve the murder, the result is a highly enjoyable 95 minutes.
