Set against the backdrop of post-Reconstruction America, No Cowards in Our Band portrays Frederick Douglass as he considers the social, economic, and political ramifications of slavery and the Civil War and their impact on the future of the United States.
Urban-Jazz Saxophonist Sam Rucker Releases New Album REDEMPTION Out August 24
One of the first songs that urban-jazz saxophonist Sam Rucker recorded for his third album, “Redemption,” was the soothing “Overcomer,” on which he emotes intimately on soprano sax during an uplifting exchange with a guitar duo comprised of his nephew, Justin Taylor, and John Calisto. Tragically, both guitarists passed away unexpectedly three days apart and the tune Rucker wrote to comfort and inspire others became his own healing grace. It is a focal point of the rousing eleven-track set penned and produced by Rucker that drops August 24 from Favor Productions.

Cast Complete for Rachel Weisz-Led Revival of PLENTY at The Public
The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the first major New York revival of David Hare's PLENTY. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux and featuring the previously announced Rachel Weisz and Corey Stoll, the show will begin previews on Tuesday, October 4 and run through Sunday, November 6, with an official press opening on Thursday, October 20.

The Public Theater announced today that David Hare's PLENTY will receuve its first major New York revival as part of The Public's 2016-17 season. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux and featuring Academy and Olivier Award winner Rachel Weisz, the award-winning post-World War II drama about a former secret agent first premiered at The Public in 1982 and then transferred to Broadway in 1983 to receive a Tony nomination for Best Play.
