York Theatre Company Will Present The World Premiere Of CHEEK TO CHEEK: IRVING BERLIN IN HOLLYWOOD

The York Theatre Company will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Cheek to Cheek: Irving Berlin in Hollywood, a song and dance celebration featuring the music and lyrics of the legendary Irving Berlin, with book by Barry Kleinbort (13 Things About Ed Carpolotti) and music direction by David Hancock Turner (York's Desperate Measures), directed and choreographed by four-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street, Dames at Sea, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, and Ain't Broadway Grand). Performances begin Friday, April 17, 2020 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2020 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is set for Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 6:45 p.m. Cast and creative team will be announced shortly.

Broadway Playwright Bernard Slade Passes Away at 89

Bernard Slade, (born Bernard Slade Newbound), the Canadian/American writer best known for his Broadway play SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR  and the TV series THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, has died.  He passed away peacefully at home early this morning (October 30) in Beverly Hills from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. He was 89.

Sony Movie Channel will showcase rarely-shown horror films, mostly from the '70s, with double features played twice every night beginning at 8 p.m. EST on Friday, October 25 through Wednesday, October 30. Ayyy! Henry Winkler Added to Wizard World Comic Con Portland Celebrity Roster, April 13-15

After taking the entertainment world by storm in his breakout role as 'Fonzie' in the popular sitcom 'Happy Days' (1975-85), Henry Winkler established himself as an award-winning producer and director, mixing in a few well-placed acting roles like Scream and Waterboy along the way. Winkler now joins a standout roster of celebrities set to attend next month's Wizard World Comic Con Portland, April 13-15 at the Oregon Convention Center, where he will greet fans, pose for photo ops, sign autographs and conduct an entertaining fan Q&A session. After achieving success as 'Fonzie,' originally written as a minor character but which soon earned Winkler billing alongside other series stars Ron Howard and Tom Bosley, Winkler quickly transitioned to produce the successful television series 'MacGyver' and direct the film Memories of Me, among dozens of off-screen credits over the past four decades. He more recently starred opposite Kevin James in the comedy Here Comes the Boom and the TV series 'Royal Pains.'
