Simply put, FIVE MILE LAKE is five-mile deep. Rachel Bonds's well-written script reinforces the importance that people need the courage to look inward at themselves and their relationships and be humble enough to accept what they might see.
FIVE MILE LAKE Completes McCarter's 2014-15 Season
Jamie (Tobias Segal) enjoys a quiet life in his small Pennsylvania town, fixing up his grandfather's old lake house and pining after Mary (Kristen Bush), his troubled coworker. When his brother (Nathan Darrow) comes back to town with a new girlfriend (Mahira Kakkar), Jamie's peaceful world is thrown into disorder. What follows is a tender and heartfelt tale about regret, lost loves, and the murky depths that lie beneath still waters.
Reed Birney and Nikki M. James to Read NUDE STUDY at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios, 6/20
Reed Birney, nominated for a Tony Award in Casa Valentina, and Nikki M. James, winner of the Tony Award for The Book of Mormon will appear in a reading of Ken Kaissar's new play Nude Study at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios (311 West 43rd Street, 8th Floor) on Friday, June 20 at 2:00 PM. Directed by Evan T. Cummings, they will be joined by Deirdre O'Connell, who was seen recently in Circle Mirror Transformation, Lisa Joyce, whose credits include Red Light Winter, and Tobias Segal, who was seen in From Up Here at Manhattan Theatre Club. The Playwrights Realm to Kick Off 2014 INK'D READING FESTIVAL, 5/12
The Playwrights Realm will present the annual INK'D Reading Festival from May 12 through May 15 at The Studio Theatre at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street). The 2014 festival features the plays of Elizabeth Irwin (My Mañana Comes), Lila Rose Kaplan (123), Jason Gray Platt (The There There) and Amelia Roper (Lottie in the Late Afternoon). As previously announced, My Mañana Comes will receive a full production at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street) from August 26 to September 20, 2014.

Women's Project Theater's BETHANY Concludes 2/17
Women's Project Theater's widely-acclaimed and packed-house production of Laura Marks's world premiere dark comedy Bethany, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, will close as scheduled Sunday, February 17, after the 2:30pm matinee to make way for Tina Benko in the North American Premiere of Jackie by Nobel Prize winner and author of The Piano Teacher, Elfriede Jelinek, directed by Tea Alagic.
