Canadian Opera Company Presents A World Of Music And Dance
The Canadian Opera Company's acclaimed Free Concert Series in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre returns this fall for its 11th season, once again offering a dynamic showcase of Toronto's cultural and artistic diversity. Artists of the COC Ensemble Studio, Canada's premier young artists program, open the season on September 27, 2016 with a highly anticipated performance of their favourite arias and art songs.
Carman Napier Coming to The Triad with Special Guest Anita Gillette, 2/23
Actress & singer Carman Napier will make her New York City solo show debut in Little Fish, Big Apple. Carman first appeared in New York in Songs For A New World and recently garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Diana in Next To Normal at The Gallery Players. This evening of musical theater and pop songs will also feature stage and screen star Anita Gillette (Chapter Two, Cabaret, Moonstruck, 30 Rock) and the talents of Noah Ricketts (Beautiful:The Carol King Musical) and Samantha Cutler (Billy Elliot: The Musical). Little Fish, Big Apple will be performed at Stage 72 at The Triad on Monday, February 23rd at 9 pm. Doors at 8:30 pm.

Actress/comedienne Jo Anne Worley needs no introduction. One of the stars of the classic TV variety show Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Worley will be at Welk Resorts in Escondido displaying her comic versatility as she presents her one-woman show Keep Laughin' June 26-30. In our recent chat, she did indeed have me laughing as she talked about her show, her take on what makes something funny, her favorite stars, and Actors and Others For Animals, which remains close to her heart. She's a tremendously joyous lady with terribly strong vibes about people and the biz and proves an overall endearing human being.
Canadian Opera Company Hosts Free Interactive Opera Concert, 3/13
Soprano and artist educator Kyra Millan leads an interactive concert of popular arias and duets. The family-friendly programming includes fun vocal exercises and the opportunity to learn and sing the Papageno-Papagena duet from Mozart's The Magic Flute. The program also features vocal performances by Millan of The Girl in 14G, made famous by Kristin Chenoweth, as well as excerpts from The Tales of Hoffmann and La fille du regiment.
