Ida Mae Announce New Tour Dates with Greta Van Fleet

Husband and wife duo Ida Mae (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean), have announced new U.S. tour dates opening for Greta Van Fleet this May. 'We were a little shocked when we were invited to play with them, but then it quickly made sense,' Turpin says. 'Their dad was in a blues band, plays harmonica. They grew up with Stax and Otis Redding, all the same blues things I did. A lot of their heroes are British rock 'n' roll bands, who during the 60s fell in love with blues coming out of Chicago. So it makes sense that Greta would be into us, and those shows really work out well.' Ida Mae are currently on the road with Blackberry Smoke on their Break It Down tour. See below for a full list of 2019 U.S. dates. The group will release their debut album Chasing Lights for June 7th via Thirty Tigers.

BWW Reviews: ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST from Strawberry Theatre Workshop

Dario Fo's 1970 play, "Accidental Death of an Anarchist" with it's anti-establishment rhetoric certainly has connections to items in the news today what with the occupy movement and people's disillusionment with the government. But the problem that the current production of the play from Strawberry Theatre Workshop has is that they don't trust the audience to make those connections and instead feel the need to jam them into the script and beat us over the head with them. And while the show is funny and has some amazing performances it also at times comes across as self indulgent and lacking commitment.

ACT concludes its 2010 Mainstage season with the much anticipated Seattle premiere of The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Oscar-winning author Martin McDonagh. Directed by ACT Artistic Director Kurt Beattie, this gleefully gruesome black comedy revolves around Padraic (Jeffrey Fracé), a merciless Irish terrorist deemed too extreme for the IRA, and his obsessive love for his black cat, Wee Thomas. Wee Thomas is Padraic's only friend, and when Padraic learns of Wee Thomas' untimely and unnatural death, the carnage begins. His short list of suspects includes his father Donny (Seán G. Griffin) and his neighbor Davey (MJ Sieber). Aiding Padraic in his bloody quest for vengeance is Mairead (Elise Hunt), a young terrorist groupie, and stalking him are three of his fellow Irish National Liberation Army members (Tim Hyland, David Roby, and Brian D. Simmons), looking for vengeance of their own.
