The Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble Presents PERCUSSION This Weekend
In recent years several very fine percussionists have moved to northern Vermont. The VCME is taking advantage of this by presenting a program of some of the major works for percussion ensemble. Part of the mission of the VCME is to perform new music rarely heard in Vermont. This is such an occasion. You will hear John Cage's landmark Third Construction as well as some of the great works by Steve Reich and Mantle Hood with a new work by Turkish composer Füson Köksal. The musicians are: Jane Boxall, Nicola Cannizzaro, Rosina Cannizzaro and Thomas Toner with Steven Klimowski, bass clarinet.
