The guns fire loud and sonorous for the opening salvos of Clint Dyer and Roy Williams’s Death of England trilogy. A staggered premiere over four years at The National Theatre from 2020, new kid on the theatreland block @sohoplace (it’s really called that) have collated the trilogy (Michael, Delroy, and Closing Time) in rep in the West End.

Casting Announced For A KIND OF PEOPLE By Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti

Richie Campbell, Thomas Coombes, Claire-Louise Cordwell, Asif Khan, Petra Letang, Amy Morgan and Manjinder Virk have been cast in the world premiere of A Kind of People by Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti, directed by Michael Buffong. With design by Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Aideen Malone and sound design by Emma Laxton. A Kind of People will be performed in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from Thursday 5 December 2019 to Saturday 18 January 2020, with press night on Wednesday 11 December 2019, 7pm.
Birmingham Repertory Theatre Opens Joe Penhall's BLUE/ORANGE

A new production of Joe Penhall's critically-acclaimed play, Blue/Orange opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 1 February (press night 5 February). Directed by Daniel Bailey, the cast will feature Richard Lintern, Thomas Coombes and Ivan Oyik.

KING LEAR Coming to Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Alex Ferns to Star in THE FATHER at Trafalgar Studios; Performances Begin in March

Laurie Slade's acclaimed new version of August Strindberg's The Father is to be given its London premiere at Trafalgar Studios this March. Jagged Fence Productions in association with Making Productions will present the play, for which casting is also announced today. Directed by Abbey Wright, former Resident Assistant Director at the Donmar Warehouse, Slade's contemporary adaptation of Strindberg's masterpiece will star Alex Ferns as the Captain. Tickets are on sale now.
