Civic Ensemble's ReEntry Theatre Program Presents STREETS LIKE THIS

Civic Ensemble's ReEntry Theatre Program brings back their 2018 production, Streets Like This, with a ten performance run opening Thursday, March 12 and running through March 22 at The Cherry Artspace, in Ithaca, NY. Streets Like This is a full-length play written collaboratively by Thom Dunn and A.C. Sidle with members of the ReEntry Theatre Program. Material comes from the real lives and imaginations of participants of the program.
Second Annual Ithaca One-Minute Play Festival Announced

The 2ND ANNUAL ITHACA ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to Ithaca for its second year, in partnership with the Kitchen Theatre Company. The 2nd Annual Ithaca One-Minute Play Festival runs for three performances only; July 13th at 8pm, and July 14th at 3pm & 7pm. All performances are at the Kitchen Theatre (417 W StateMLK, Jr. St). Tickets, priced at $20, are available at kitchentheatre.org.
Boston One-Minute Play Festival Returns For 8th Year

1st Stage Presents The World Premiere Of SWIMMING WITH WHALES

This world premiere production invites audiences into a world of healing, compassion, and renewal. While visiting his family's secluded cottage on the shores of the Atlantic ocean, Owen, a typically urban fifteen-year-old boy, and his fisherman father clash until an unlikely and healing communion with an injured whale awakens in Owen a forgotten boyhood and connection with the sea.

Civic Ensemble's ReEntry Theatre Program presents their third production with Streets Like This, a full-length play written collaboratively by Thom Dunn and AC Sidle with members of ReEntry Theatre Program. Material comes from the real lives and imaginations of participants of the program. The play was created in weekly sessions over the past year and in rehearsals this spring. Sarah K. Chalmers, who facilitates the entire program and leads the sessions, directs this production, supported by assistant director Gabriella Carr, who is also producing this show.
Kitchen Theatre Company Dazzles, Delights, And Raises Dollars With LIP SINK

On March 24, 2018, Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) presented its first ever Lip Sink Spring Fundraiser. Celebrating M. Bevin O'Gara's first season as Producing Artistic Director at KTC, the evening brought the community together in support of the theatre. Teams of performers chose songs to lip sync and dance to, and fundraised on behalf of the theatre, culminating in an incredible show, delighting the audience of KTC supporters. The event was hosted by longtime Kitchen Theatre actor and local favorite Karl Gregory. The fundraising celebration featured an open bar, buffet, and a dance party (DJ Gibran).

The festival is a vital part of the Huntington's new play development efforts and highlights the work of locally-based Huntington Playwriting Fellows and national writers in partnership with the Huntington. Over the last decade, Breaking Ground plays have gone on to appear at the Huntington as well as theatres in Boston, across the country, and internationally.

Playwright Young Jean Lee takes us through a series of life lessons by telling stories about pain, loneliness, illness, loss, and love, using humor and music to make us feel alright about the inevitable.
