New York City Ballet’s 2024-25 Season will begin with a four-week Fall Season that will open on Tuesday, September 17 with a program consisting of works by NYCB’s Co-Founding Choreographers George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, including Balanchine’s Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2 and Duo Concertant, and Robbins’ Glass Pieces.

Bravo to Premiere PROJECT RUNWAY on December 5
Bravo's Emmy-winning competition series “Project Runway” returns for another season of high stakes and fierce fashions on Thursday, December 5 at 9:30pm ET/PT. Sixteen new hopefuls are ready to take the runway by storm and make fashion history. Host Karlie Kloss is back, along with Christian Siriano as the mentor and returning judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth, to decide who has what it takes to make it in this industry. Each 90-minute episode will feature the return of some fan-favorite elements, including the “Siriano Save,” in which Christian has the opportunity to bring one eliminated designer back into the competition, and the pièce de résistance, a chance to present a final collection at New York Fashion Week. Gotham remains a main character for this fashion adventure for challenge reveals and runway shows with iconic locations such as the famous TWA Hotel at JFK, The Vessel at Hudson Yards, and Bergdorf Goodman. In addition, the groundbreaking series continues to shine a light on the evolution of fashion and inclusion by featuring a variety of sexual preferences, racial backgrounds and ages including a nonbinary model and a trans model, a “Dreamer,” and the oldest designer ever to compete on “Project Runway.” Challenging fashion norms, the designers are tasked with creating functional outfits for Olympians and Paralympians, as well as turning donated garments from Goodwill of NY into high fashion wear.

Mastervoices Presents World Premiere Of New Adaptation Of LADY IN THE DARK
MasterVoices will conclude its 2018-19 season with the world premiere of a new adaptation of the legendary Kurt Weill, Ira Gershwin, Moss Hart musical Lady in the Dark. Presented as part of New York City Center's 75th anniversary season, it is directed and conducted by MasterVoices Artistic Director Ted Sperling, and choreographed by Doug Varone. The musical will star Tony Award winner Victoria Clark in the lead role of Liza Elliott. In addition to the previously announced performances on April 25 and 26, because of high-ticket demand, a matinee has been added for April 27. Opening on Broadway in 1941, Lady in the Dark was groundbreaking in its unusual subject matter psychoanalysis and unconventional structure. It has not been seen in New York in 25 years, since it was presented as part of the inaugural Encores! season at New York City Center in 1994.

Jesse Leong Named Julius Rudel/Kurt Weill Conducting Fellow
The Kurt Weill Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Leong as the recipient of the Julius Rudel/Kurt Weill Conducting Fellowship. Established in 2015 to honor Rudel's extraordinary artistic achievements and dedication to the music of Kurt Weill, this award enables a young conductor in the early stages of a career to assist a master conductor in the preparation and performance of a work by Weill or Marc Blitzstein and expand his or her knowledge of their works. The fellowship carries a stipend of $10,000.
The New Group Finalizes Lease for New Administrative Offices
ATCO Properties & Management, one of Manhattan's preeminent owner/operators of Class-A commercial real estate, announced today that it has finalized a five-year lease for contemporary theater organization The New Group's administrative offices at 240 West 35th Street, an 18-story, 165,000 square-foot building in the Garment District. Productions in The New Group's 2018-19 season take place at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).
