Thea Belle is a rising actress-director-writer, studying Theater and English at Georgetown University. Thea grew up acting at the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport NY, under the guidance of Robin Joy Allan and Michael Baker. Gateway credits include: Gateway's Mary Poppins; Billy Elliot; Holiday Spectacular on Ice; Elf the Musical; As You Like It, and more. She originated the role of Shannon in If You Press Yer Eyes Hard Enuf (written and directed by Kevin Baggott) at Theatre Row. She has also studied performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Teen Summer Conservatory (London, 2019) and the Stonestreet Studios Summer Intensive (New York, 2021). She is the youngest of six university students to be selected for Arena Stages’ Playwrights’ Arena. Thea recently directed A Christmas Carol for Mask & Bauble Dramatic Society, the oldest continually running student theater group in the United States. She has received fellowships from Georgetown’s Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics and the Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice. She has studied script writing under playwright Christine Evans and legendary screenwriting professor John Glavin. She is the founder/director of an arts non-profit, The Artist Alignment. When she is not busy trying to emulate Lin Manuel Miranda, Thea loves to kayak, hike, study film/television, and talk about why The Newsroom is Aaron Sorkin’s most underrated show.
