Emory Cohen, India Eisley Cast in True Crime Drama THE DOUGHERTY GANG
“The Dougherty Gang,” is based on a true story and the GQ article 'The Whole True Story of the Dougherty Gang' by Kathy Dobie. Written & directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sean McEwen (Whaling”), The Dougherty Gang is his second directorial feature film, having also shepherded as a producer a number of hit films including: “Another Happy Day,” “Bernie” “Graceland” and “Punching Henry.” Starring Emory Cohen (“Brooklyn,” “The Place Beyond the Pines” “War Machine”), India Eisley (Patty Jenkins “I Am The Night,” “Underworld: Awakening,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”), and Sam Strike (“Timeless,” “Leatherface,” “EastEnders”), as three siblings whom embark on a cross-country crime spree, hoping to start a new life across the border. LEWIS & TOLKIEN: OF WARDROBES AND RINGS to Come to The Sheen Center
Lewis & Tolkien: Of Wardrobes and Rings, written by and featuring David Payne and directed by Marc Whitmore,will make its New York debut at the Black Box Theater at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. Performances began on May 23 with opening night scheduled for May 31, the engagement runs throughJune 14.
BWW Interview: Holly Schindler, author of SPARK
The first thing that drew me to SPARK was the theatre influence. What are some of your favorite stage plays and/or musicals?
You don't have to live in the heart of New York City to love the theater, do you? I'm a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri, which has a fairly long history of producing actors—Brad Pitt, John Goodman, Kathleen Turner, Tess Harper have all lived here. There's definitely something in the air!
Springfield's also home to several vintage theaters—I grew up going to productions inside them. I referenced a few in SPARK (The Fantasticks), as well as a few Shakespeare works (especially Romeo and Juliet). But I also wanted to show my readers what was in my mind's eye as I created the Avery theater. My local color video takes you on a tour:

Real-Life Husbands Nominated for 2015 LGBT Iris Prize for CHARLIE Film
It was announced today that 'charlie' has been short listed as one of 30 films in competition for the highly coveted Iris Prize, which is the world's biggest award for LGBT short films. The Award will be presented at the International Iris Prize Festival from October 7 - 11, 2015 in Cardiff, Wales.
