Yes, the chubby delightful bumbler, who was in the Bard’s HENRY IV, Parts 1 and 2, is now lighting up the stage in Great Lakes Theater’s THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, thanks to Elizabeth I. The Queen was so infatuated with the character that, according to rumor, she asked Shakespeare to write another play with Falstaff, this time depicting the rogue in love.

Santa Cruz Shakespeare Raises $1.1 Million for New Outdoor Theater
Santa Cruz Shakespeare (SCS) is pleased to announce that it surpassed its initial goal of raising $1 million to fund its new outdoor theater: The Grove at DeLaveaga Park. The total revenue raised to date is $1,107,273.41. This includes gifts received, as well as outstanding written pledges, which will be paid by donors over three years.

OSF to Present THE GREAT SOCIETY, Follow-Up to Robert Schenkkan's ALL THE WAY, 7/27
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will open Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan's The Great Society at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. The Great Society was commissioned by and co-produced with Seattle Repertory Theatre and developed through OSF's American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle and the Orchard Project.
