Longtime People's Light Company Members Reunite for MORNING'S AT SEVEN
A stellar ensemble of People's Light veterans, including some of the most celebrated actors in Philadelphia, brings to life Paul Osborn's classic American comedy, Morning's at Seven. In a small, Midwestern town, four close-knit sisters and their husbands confront long-held secrets and simmering tensions that threaten to upend the status quo. People's Light & Theatre has announced its 40th Anniversary Season that celebrates the passion and artistry that created and sustained our company. The season includes one world premiere, two regional premieres, and one Philadelphia premiere. Nationally acclaimed artists Mary McDonnell, David Strathairn, and Victor Williams will join longtime company members and various newcomers on our stages. They will perform iconic works by August Wilson, Anton Chekhov, and Neil Simon, new plays by Bruce Graham, Bill Cain, and Jessica Dickey, and our new holiday panto by Pete Pryor and Samantha Bellomo. We will transport audiences to Merlin's Middle Ages, Ranyevskaya's changing Russia, 19th & 21st Century Gettysburg, and Lou's Bar in today's South Philly.
Philadelphia Young Playwrights to Host 2013 New Voices Workshops at Temple Theatres, 10/10-19
Philadelphia Young Playwrights is working with students from area high schools and middle schools, some of the region's top professional directors, and casts of students from Temple Theaters to begin the 2013 New Voices Workshops. This series of performances features monologues and plays written by middle school and high school students during the previous school year. These works were first place winners of Young Playwright's 2013 Annual Playwriting Festival. The workshop performances mark the first time the plays are being produced. The monologues were selected from the winning monologues workshopped during the Young Voices Monologue Festival in Spring 2013.

The Board of People's Light & Theatre has named Artistic Director, Abigail Adams, CEO of the organization as part of a carefully planned restructuring of the company's executive leadership. Ms. Adams will be joined by Ellen Anderson, General Manager & CFO, and Zak Berkman, Producing Director.
