BWW Reviews: LITTLE ME Big on Talent and Value

Jason Graae is a comic genius. With his flawless changes from personality to personality, one might think 'Little Me' a one-man show. But a fantastic ensemble also mounts an impossible-to-ignore smorgasbord of ever-changing, delightful characters. Performed in the capable hands of 42nd Street Moon, the 'little' done musical perfectly combines melodrama and musical theatre.
BWW Reviews: Audiences Cry Opa! for 42nd Street Moon’s ZORBA

I have a difficult time staying away from Fiddler on the Roof comparisons when I consider 42nd Street Moon's production of Zorba. With the help of their common book writer, Joseph Stein, the two musicals exhibit similar leading characters and musical styles. Beyond all else, Zorba and Fiddler exhibit the same contradicting emotions of sadness and joy shown to perfection through stories exhibiting the spirit of a specific culture.
42nd Street Moon Presents ZORBA, Now thru 5/20

42nd Street Moon, the company that presents intimate productions of uncommon musicals, concludes its 2011-12 season with a journey to Greece and Crete for the Kander and Ebb classic, ZORBA. Based on the book Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis, this musical is a salute to the spirit of Greece, where Zorba celebrates life, but also lost love, heartbreak and death. Opening is tonight, Saturday May 5 at 6 pm. The show will run through May 20.

BWW Reviews: OH, KAY! is OK with Audiences Now Through Nov 20

Many things in 42nd Street Moon's production of George and Ira Gershwin's 'Oh, Kay!' are OK. The singing is OK. The lighting and backdrop are OK. The sets are OK - a good use of small space. But a few things in this production are amazing. Those few things make it worth going to the production, and they guarantee a fun time that will have audiences saying, as a song from the musical says, 'Oh, Kay, you're OK with me!'

Award-winning actress Maureen McVerry will direct the second musical of 42nd Street Moon's l9th season: George and Ira Gershwin's OH, KAY! (1926).
