Casting and Directors Announced for PLAYWRIGHTS REVOLUTION At Capital Stage

Capital Stage presents its annual new works festival PLAYWRIGHTS' REVOLUTION, a series of staged readings of new plays. As Sacramento's leader of bold, thought-provoking theatre, Capital Stage created PLAYWRIGHTS' REVOLUTION, to identify and develop new plays and playwrights.

Capital Stage Launches Season with AN OCTOROON

Capital Stage will launch its 2017-18 Season: Future Tense with the Obie Award Winner and Sacramento Premiere of An Octoroon by Branden Jacob-Jenkins. This poignant adaptation of a 19th century anti-slavery melodrama will be directed by star of stage and screen, and UCLA's professor of Theatre, Film and Television, Judith Moreland. An Octoroon will be the first production of Capital Stage's 13th Season, and will run from August 30 - October 1, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 8pm.

Rubicon's Summer Youth Program Opens BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JR., Today

Rubicon's Summer Youth Program opens BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JR. featuring songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature. This stage version of the beloved Disney classic includes music by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. Directed by Carolanne Marano with musical direction by Miriam Arichea, the one hour long production features many local youth performers in a production perfect for all ages.
