BWW Review: AN EVENING OF CLASSIC BROADWAY Returns Triumphantly to Rockwell
by Don Grigware - Apr 14, 2016
On Tuesday April 12 I eagerly returned to Rockwell Table and Stage for the third time to see An Evening of Classic Broadway. The show comes to Rockwell for one evening every couple of months. Why do I keep coming back? Produced by Dianne Fraser and musically directed by extraordinarily talented Brad Ellis ... and with a bevy of great singers on board, it's guaranteed fun, extra high on entertainment, and it incorporates Broadway standards both classic and contemporary. If that isn't enough, the structure is laid back and spontaneous, allowing one to sit back, relax and just savor the sounds.

Full of silly humor and absurdist gags that will have you laughing throughout the show, the show continues at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach through July 15. One of the most amusing shows MTW has ever mounted, it features a stellar ensemble cast led by Davis Gaines and Tami Tappan Damiano.
Nobody Does It Like Cy -- CY COLEMAN’S BROADWAY at The McCallum Theatre on February 8th
by David Green - Feb 11, 2012
What a wonderful thing it is to spend an evening in the theatre and have your expectations exceeded. The McCallum Theatre is presenting quite an impressive and varied array of theatrical offerings this spring, but I believe last night's CY COLEMAN'S BROADWAY might have been the unexpected "jewel" in their season. It was truly a valentine to one of Broadway and popular music's most prolific composers and the celebration of a songbook that leaves you wondering - "Did he ever write anything that wasn't a hit"?
