Tamara Johnson is a stage, film & television actress. As a company member of the Virginia Shakespeare Festival ten years performances include: Romeo & Juliet, Cymbeline, Illyria, a musical 12th Night, Comedy of Errors, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale, Julius Caesar, A Man for All Seasons and What the Butler Saw. Regional Theatre: Independence - Off-Off Broadway, Fiddler on the Roof, Legacy of Light, A Lie of the Mind - Virginia Rep, Steel Magnolias - Springer Opera House; Glass Menagerie - Rep Stage, MD & Lettuce and Lovage - Off Square Theatre Jackson Hole, WY. Films: Lake Effects co-starring with Jane Seymour, Shelter co-starring with Julianne Moore, Where Are You, Bobby Browning co-starring with Matt Dallas and recently released Dinner with the Alchemist. TV: One Tree Hill, Killing Lincoln,A Haunting, Photon, and (pilot) Young Americans. Ms. Johnson researched, wrote & produced her one-woman show In Haste, Laura Keene for which she received the Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council. Recently performed at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. This production has toured: New York City, Piccolo Spoleto Festival – South Carolina, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, & Kentucky. Ms. Johnson is an acting professor at the College of William & Mary and is recipient of the Kennedy Center’s Award of Excellence.
