Maestro Iván Fischer led The Budapest Festival Orchestra in a thrilling all-Dvořák program at David Geffen Hall Sunday including an encore of Braham's Hungarian Dance No. 5. Maestro Fischer announced from his podium, “the arrangement includes some of the original folk melody', which was sung by the members of the Orchestra. It was a memorable performance punctuated by multiple standing ovations. Daisy Soros, chairman emeritus of the Friends of The Budapest Festival Orchestra, sat on an aisle in the front row.

The third edition of Art Southampton, the leading international contemporary and modern art fair for acquiring investment quality works of art opened last night with huge success, where top collectors, curators, art advisors and influencers kicked off the weekend-long event. Taking place on the 18-acre estate behind the Southampton Elks Lodge, the Platinum VIP saw over 1,500 top collectors of the East End, and throughout the elegant evening, attendance exceeded last year's VIP Preview of 4,200 guests. Perhaps it's cabin fever or simply the thought that summer is a coming, the annual fete draws a crowd of local business professionals that relish the opportunity to greet old friends, share a cocktail with new ones and hit the dance floor all while knowing the importance of the event in raising funds for the Parrish Educational programs.
