World premiere presentations like ANDY WARHOL IN IRAN offer Berkshire audiences a special opportunity to experience a work in progress, recognized for their potential. While I won’t term this as a must-see; it is most certainly a fine piece, well worth seeing. If not for the creative aspects touched upon above, it serves a fantastic look at nearly forgotten period in modern history and a strong reminder both that things are not always as they may at first appear; as well the notion that we are all far more alike than different. The invitation proclaimed An Evening of Pure Joy and the Barrington Stage Company's NYC Benefit held at The Friars Club last night surpassed all expectations. A star studded roster from the BSC actors bench filled the Friars Club with song as Tony Award Winning Composer/Lyricist William Finn presented Joe Iconis with the William Finn Award for Innovation and Excellence in Musical Theatre. Julianne Boyd, artistic director and founder of Barrington Stage Company, Mary Ann Quinson, Board Chair, and Marita O'Dea Glodt, opened the evenings festivities. The SRO guests in the legendary Friars Club were entertained by BSC performers, Jennette Bayardelle, Allison Blackwell, Ellen Harvey, Lauren Marcus, Kyle Dean Massey, Jeff McCarthy, Anastasia Mccluskey, Anne L. Nathan, Will Roland, Scarlett Strallen, Will Swenson,Jason Sweetooth Williams,Eric William Morris, and Stephanie Umoh. Musical direction was by Darren Cohen.

'THIS' a play by Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards) opened on the St. Germain Stage of Barrington Stage Company last night and had most of the first night audience telling there friends 'don't miss THIS', after leaving the theatre. Broadwayworld was there for the opening night celebration. When great ideas, words, and acting are heard in a theatre THIS is what happens. 'THIS' runs thru August 27th. Already Berkshire theatre lovers are also saying 'don't miss this' about Barrington Stage Companies production of COMPANY starring Aaron Tviet on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage August 10-Sept 2...Opening night is August 13.

Opening Night of the American screwball comedy His Girl Friday, John Guare's adaptation of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original play The Front Page and the screen version of His Girl Friday took place at Barrington Stage Co. and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was there. Atlantic Classical Orchestra to Perform Vero 25th Anniversary Celebration, 12/10
Hosted by The Vero Friends of the ACO, A 25th Anniversary Celebration will kick-off the Orchestra's 25th Concert Season in Vero Beach. Founded in 1990 by conductor laureate Andrew McMullan, the ACO baton was passed in 2004 to Grammy-nominated Maestro Stewart Robertson, who now leads the Orchestra with performances in three venues: the Waxlax Center in Vero Beach, the Lyric Theatre in Stuart, and the Eissey Campus Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens.
