Shakespeare by the Sea, Southern California’s premiere outdoor Shakespeare festival that’s admission-free and never too far, announced plays and locations for its 26th season.
Play on Shakespeare Releases Spring and Summer 2022 Season
Play On Shakespeare, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to exploring the world of Shakespeare in performance through translation and adaptation, today announces their spring/summer 2022 season. Lue Douthit, President and Co-Founder says: 'Well, the theater world is definitely opening up. We literally mean 'world' (Prague, Guam, England) and suddenly there are ten professional productions of Play On translations opening in the next few months, including two in San Francisco (African-American Shakespeare Company and Cal Shakes). We are delighted that there are so many opportunities for audiences to gather together again to see and hear Shakespeare differently. Play on!'
BWW Interview: Tara Donovan Elatedly Producing Her POV At Little Fish
Little Fish Theatre's annual short play festival PICK OF THE VINE, premiering March 5, has smoothly morphed into a hybrid stage-to-film online. The filming of this year's final seven plays, chosen out of 800+ submissions, have been overseen by producer Tara Donovan, as well as producing artistic director Lisa Coffi. Little Fish Theatre has announced its cast for the Los Angeles premiere of Operation Ajax opening October 3. This true story about a 1953 CIA covert operation is written by Matthew Spangler and Farshad Farahat, and is directed by LFT Associate Artistic Director Suzanne Dean. The five-person ensemble plays all 13 real and imagined figures surrounding the plan to overthrow the Prime Minister of Iran a?" Mohammad Mossadegh.
