BIO

Susann Fletcher has spent the last thirty years appearing in a succession of Broadway shows, national tours and regional and stock performances. She was last seen on Broadway and on tour with The Full Monty, as Georgie Bukatinsky. Immediately preceding that, she was on the road as Dolly Tate in the First National Tour of Annie Get Your Gun. That performance garnered her a National Broadway Theatre Award nomination. She has been seen on Broadway as Smitty in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. She created the role of Donna Douglas in the original Broadway company of The Goodbye Girl, starring Bernadette Peters and Martin Short. She was an original company member of the Tony Award winning Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, where she recreated such classic roles as Miss Electra from Gypsy, Golde from Fiddler on the Roof, The Timid Girl from the Charleston in Billion Dollar Baby and more. She was an original company member of the ill fated Broadway production of Raggedy Ann. Her first Broadway show was The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas in which she played Ruby Rae and closed the show as Angel. Other national tours include How To Succeed…, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, My One and Only, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, Puttin’ on the Ritz and more.

Ms. Fletcher had the honor of playing Phyllis Diller’s daughter in a tour of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Other regional and stock credits include Miss Mona in Whorehouse, Gloria Thorpe in Damn Yankees, Susan in Company, Anita in West Side Story, Bonnie in Anything Goes, Shelia in A Chorus Line and Gladys Bumps in Pal Joey for which she received a Barrymore Award nomination.

Susann has made guest appearances on The Producers, Law and Order, All My Children, One Life to Live, Reading Rainbow and Texas and had the lead role in the feature film Bloodsucking Pharoahs in Pittsburgh, which is gaining cult status within the slasher genre.

A true triple threat, (actor, singer and dancer), Ms Fletcher has had the honor of working with the top choreographers on Broadway, including, Jerome Robbins, Graciella Danielle, Tommy Tune, Michael Kidd, Pat Birch, Wayne Cilento, Jerry Mitchell, Thommie Walsh and more.

Susann moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and hit the ground running. She was in the world premiere of South Street at The Pasadena Playhouse, stood by for Michele Pawk in Los Otros at the Mark Taper Forum (directed by Graciela Daniele, created by Ellen Fitzhugh and Michael John LaChiusa) and just finished filming opposite Al Pacino and Christopher Walken in Stand Up Guy.

Playwrighting credits include A Girl Called Dusty, a book musical in two acts about Dusty Springfield, which had its world premiere at The Provincetown Rep Theatre and is in development for further production. She just finished writing a new play, Soft Spot.

Susann lives in West Hollywood, CA.

BWW Review: Ocean State Theatre Rings in Holidays with Lackluster WHITE CHRISTMAS

Movies to musicals and musicals to movies. It's been a regular occurrence for years, although it seems that recently it's been happening more and more. Sometimes, the transition from movie to musical, or vice versa, works perfectly and can be pulled off without a hitch. Sometimes it fails miserably. The musical version of the 1954 classic holiday movie White Christmas is neither of these things. It's not spectacular, nor is it a failure. It's uneven, at best, something that is made worse by an uneven and surprisingly disappointing production currently running at Ocean State Theatre Company.
