Billy Porter to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live TheatreLive Performance, Recording and Radio have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the full list was announced today, June 20, 2019 at 12:30 P.M. by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's Walk of Fame Selection Committee. The newest honorees were chosen from hundreds of nominations at a selection committee meeting held in June and will be ratified by the Hollywood Chamber's Board of Directors. She was the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program, she has won every major award in broadcasting, and she has been inducted into both the Broadcasting and Radio Hall(s) of Fame. Charismatic and insightful, Susan Stamberg is well-known for her conversational style, intelligence, and knack for finding the interesting story.

Kitty Felde, celebrated public radio journalist, founder/producer/host of Book Club for Kids podcast and playwright, is featured at two Author Talk/Book Signing events for Welcome to Washington, Fina Mendoza, her debut mystery novel for ages 7 to 12, on Saturday, March 30, 2:30 pm, at Children's Book World in West L.A., and Monday, April 1, 6 pm, at Vroman's in Pasadena. Women's Voices Theater Festival to Welcome Tony Winner Lisa Kron for Launch Party
Tony Award-winning playwright Lisa Kron will be a featured guest and participant at the launch party of the Women's Voices Theater Festival on September 8 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The invitation-only event kicks off the beginning of the Festival, an unprecedented collaboration among professional theater companies that includes the presentation of more than 50 world-premiere productions of work by female playwrights, taking place this September and October in the nation's capital region. The launch party features a creative conversation between Kron and National Public Radio's Special Correspondent Susan Stamberg focused on gender parity in the arts in the Museum's Performance Hall, followed by a celebratory party and toast to officially declare the start of the Festival.

The bipartisan favorite of both theatre and political fans, Will on the Hill returns to the Shakespeare Theatre Company this spring. This year's Will on the Hill is marked by a performance of Toil and Trouble, an original play by Peter Byrne written with assistance from The West Wing Writers Group. Will on the Hill will be directed by STC Associate Director Alan Paul and take place on Monday, May 6, 2013, in Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). The evening begins with a VIP cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner immediately following the performance.
