St. Ann's Warehouse, responding to extraordinary demand for tickets, has announced a three-week extension of Monsoon Wedding, the Musical, Mira Nair's live theatrical adaptation of her landmark film. The new production, featuring actors and theater-makers from India and the global Indian diaspora, welcomes audiences inside the lavish wedding plans and frenzied leadup to an arranged marriage beset by modern tensions. Preview performances begin at the Brooklyn waterfront theater on May 6.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre Has Received NEA Grant
Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the theatre company has been approved for a $50,000 Art Works grant to support The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. Overall, the National Endowment for the Arts has approved 1,187 grants totaling $27.3 million in the first round of fiscal year 2020 funding to support arts projects in every state in the nation, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Berkeley Rep Welcomes New Fellows For the 2019-20 Season
Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced today that 15 young professionals have been awarded fellowships for the 2019-20 season. Theatre graduates from universities across the nation apply for this program that provides a year-long deep dive into the operations of the award-winning theatre. Fellowships cover a variety of artistic and administrative disciplines and provide specialized training that assists fellows with embarking on a professional career in the arts. Additionally, fellows participate in career development seminars, build professional contacts, and even serve as mentors themselves for Berkeley Rep's annual Teen One-Acts Festival.

Berkeley Rep: Cast Members Of 'Paradise Square' Raise $2500
Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that over $2,500 was raised via the cabaret benefit Paradise for Paradise created by company members of the world premiere musical Paradise Square. The idea for the fundraiser came from the performers' desire to pay forward the sense of togetherness and community depicted in the story of Paradise Square to Paradise, California, a town that was affected by the Camp Fire.
Berkeley Rep Receives NEA Grant
Today the National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $27 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $50,000 to Berkeley Repertory Theatre for The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. Art Works is the Arts Endowment's principal grant making program. The agency received 1,605 Art Works applications for this round of grant making, and will award 972 grants in this category.
