Palm Beach Dramaworks to Host DOWNTOWN HOEDOWN 2023 Gala

​​​​​​​Dust off your cowboy boots, pull on your favorite pair of jeans, entertain visions of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, and high step it over to the West Palm Beach Marriott for a “Downtown Hoedown,” Palm Beach Dramaworks' first Gala since 2020. The Gala takes place on Saturday, March 18, beginning at 6:30pm. Penny Bank is the Chair.

Darius J. Manuel to Compete in NSAL National Drama Competition

Darius J. Manuel dazzled the judges at the NSAL Florida East Coast Drama Competition held recently at The Crest Theatre at Old School Square. Darius won the $2,000 first prize and an all-expense paid trip to compete at the NSAL National Drama Competition in Washington, D.C. Manuel lives in Lauderhill and is the Teaching Artist/Director of the Florida Children's Theatre in Fort Lauderdale.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Launches Education Initiative

Thanks to a very generous donation from a member of its Board of Directors, Palm Beach Dramaworks is establishing an education department with the goal of introducing young people to the joys of theatre and encouraging and inspiring their participation in the art form. Gary Cadwallader has been named Director of Education and Community Engagement, and joined the staff on May 2.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for Palm Beach Dramaworks' Diane & Mark Perlberg Studio Theatre took place on Tuesday, April 5. Talking part were Producing Artistic Director William Hayes, Managing Director Sue Ellen Beryl, West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, Diane Perlberg, and Mark Perlberg. The studio theatre is the home of The Dramaworkshop, PBD's lab for developing new plays. Jennifer Fawcett's Buried Cities, the lab's first developmental production, opens on Friday, April 8.
