Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, evoke deep emotions for those who have read these beloved literary works. And yet, few readers know the history of the creators behind these great novels and the raw life experiences that gave birth to their writings. Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte, were sisters who grew up in 19th century Yorkshire, England, where the land and people were rough and the death toll was high.

Hudson Theatre Works, New Jersey's newest Equity theatre company, will begin its inaugural season with John Steinbeck's classic tale of friendship and compassion, Of Mice and Men. It is scheduled to run Thursdays thru Sundays, tonight, April 5th - 21st, at the historic Park Performing Arts Center (www.parkpac.org), 560 32nd Street, Union City, New Jersey, evenings at 8PM and matinees at 2PM.

2012 undergroundzero festival Announces Full Line-Up, Set for 6/29-7/29

A cooperative of NYC-based cutting-edge experimental theater companies and artists will present their work throughout July as part of the 2012 undergroundzero festival (Paul Bargetto, Artistic Director, Connie Hall, Executive Director). The festival will take place June 29-July 29 on 5 stages in the East Village and Brooklyn and outdoor sites throughout lower Manhattan. Weekly parties, panels, and new play readings will happen at festival headquarters: the legendary Living Theatre.

'Monsterface' at the Irish Arts Center has a new cast and revised schedule.
Audax Theatre Co To Present 'Monsterface' At Irish Arts

The Audax Theatre Group will present Daniel Roberts' latest play, MONSTERFACE, directed by Alex Lippard. Performances will be at the Irish Arts Center, located at 553 West 51st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. Performances will begin on Thursday, May 29th, continuing through Saturday, June 28th. Opening night is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st.
