The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents concerts with violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill, its artist in residence. On Sunday, March 3, O'Neill performs a program of British composers -- Britten, Bowen, Bridge, Carter and Clarke with pianist Steven Lin; he closes on Sunday, May 26 with a program called L.A. Masters with works by Stravinsky, Schoenberg and Brahms with Jennifer Frautschi (violin), Jesse Mills (violin), Fred Sherry (cello), and Orion Weiss (piano).

O'Neill will lead three programs - on Saturday September 8, he performs Schubert and Beethoven in a program title Homage with the Ehnes Quartet; on Sunday, March 3 he performs a program of British composers -- Britten, Bowen, Bridge, Carter and Clarke with pianist Steven Lin; and he closes with a program called L.A. American Composers Orchestra (ACO), under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel and Music Director George Manahan, continues its 40th Anniversary Season on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 7:30pm with Orchestra Underground: Past Forward at Carnegie Hall's subterranean Zankel Hall. Now in its 13th year, Orchestra Underground continues as ACO's subversive and entrepreneurial redefinition of the orchestra as an elastic ensemble. Led by Manahan, Past Forward illustrates the role the past plays in the present, from composers' own personal explorations of their roots, to broader investigations of the universal role of memory and recollection.
Jazz Sensation Justin Kauflin Coming to The Wallis
Quincy Jones and Clark Terry protege, jazz pianist Justin Kauflin, will launch the Next Generation @ The Wallis series on Friday, January 22 at 8pm. Kauflin's performance is the first in a series that focuses the spotlight on rising artists across the performing arts spectrum. Two additional artists, Sean Chen and Steven Lin, will continue the series in February and March 2016.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Joyce Theatre, Ravina Festival Association & Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and Texas International Theatrical Arts Society).
New York Youth Symphony Sets 53rd Season
The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), composed of orchestra, chamber, jazz, conducting, and composition programs-heads into the 2015/16 season having provided over 5,000 music students between ages 12 and 22 unparalleled opportunities to perform at world-class venues including Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center and to study with world-renowned artists, all tuition-free. Beyond the instruction from accomplished musicians, students gain valuable life skills-commitment, discipline, focus, collaboration-and friendships that last a lifetime.
New England Philharmonic Selects Winner of 30th Annual Call for Scores
The New England Philharmonic (NEP) has selected "Spectre of the Spheres" by David Hertzberg, winner of their 30th annual Call for Scores. The composition will receive its Boston premiere by the NEP under the direction of Richard Pittman at their April 30, 2016 concert. The concert will also feature the world premiere of an NEP commission from David Rawkowski, Symphony No. 6, Alban Berg's Violin Concerto ("To the Memory of an Angel") featuring soloist, Danielle Maddon and Jean Sibelius' "The Oceanides."
