Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti made her Cafe Carlyle debut last night and Broadwayworld was there. The five-time Tony nominee opened the Carlyle's fall season with Tales from Soprano Isle, which featured songs from Laura's career along with humorous anecdotes and experiences that she has encountered on and off the stage and screen. Laura just completed her Tony nominated role as Amalia Balash in the hit Broadway musical She Loves Me, She also recently garnered rave reviews for her hilarious portrayal of Melania Trump on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Laura told the opening night Cafe Carlyle audience that it was not only her Cafe' debut. As she gently patted her 5 month pregnant tummy she said it was also her daughter's.

After a critically acclaimed 2014 run of her solo show Maxine Linehan: Beautiful Songs, Maxine will bring back her stunning 2009 cabaret show, What Would Petula Do? A Tribute to Petula Clark, on Monday, November 2 at 7 pm. The show is the third installment of New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits, Producer Stephen Hanks' new Cabaret Life Productions Series at the Metropolitan Room (the Associate Producer of the Series is Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD). The show's director is Scott Siegel (Creator, Writer, Director and Host of The Town Hall's Broadway By The Year series and Writer, Director and Producer of Michael Feinstein's concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center) with musical direction by Ryan Shirar.
