Richard Thomas to Star in A DISTANT COUNTRY CALLED YOUTH at The Old Globe, 6/9
The Old Globe today announced it will present Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas ("The Waltons," Fifth of July, "The Americans") starring in A Distant Country Called Youth, an intimate look at the making of an artist, adapted by Steve Lawson from early letters Tennessee Williams sent to his family, friends, and professional associates. This one-night-only engagement takes place on Monday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced exciting casting for their Main Stage productions, along with a several special events for their 2014 Summer Season. On the Main Stage: Festival veterans including Nate Corddry, Holley Fain, Christopher Fitzgerald and Nancy Opel join the cast of June Moon, directed by Jessica Stone (July 2- 13); Justin Long returns to Williamstown, joining Renee Fleming in the World Premiere of Living on Love(July 16 - 26), and theater veterans Judy Kuhn, Howard McGillin, festival favorite Roger Rees, and more join Chita Rivera in the John Doyle-directed production of The Visit, with choreography by Graciela Daniele (July 31 - August 17).

The 26th annual Free Theatre outdoor production of the Williamstown Theatre Festival's 2013 season is Dracula, or the Un-Dead. Adapted by Free Theatre co-founder and WTF veteran Steve Lawson, this dynamic new stage version of Bram Stoker's iconic 1897 tale will be presented on Poker Flats Field on the Williams College Campus (weather permitting). Williamstown Theatre Festival Announces Additions of BLOOD PLAY, MY FAIR LEWIS and More in Season Lineup
Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten has announced additions to the Festival's 59th Season, including Blood Play, The Debate Society's off- Broadway hit, which will play the Nikos Stage, August 7 - 18, 2013. It was also announced today that celebrated comedian (and Williamstown Theatre Festival regular) Lewis Black will return to the WTF Main Stage for My Fair Lewis, a one-night-only evening of stand-up, on Monday, July 22, and that the Festival's signature Late-Night Cabaret series - featuring Festival stars in rarely seen cabaret performances - returns to Goodrich Hall, July 11 - 13, July 25 - 27, August 8 - 10 at 10:30 PM.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Announces Full Casts of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, THE BLUE DEEP This Summer
Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten has announced today the full cast and creative teams for the first two productions of the 2012 season: The Importance of Being Earnest and the World Premiere of The Blue Deep. The Importance of Being Earnest will be presented on the Main Stage from June 26 through July 14 (opening June 28) and The Blue Deep will grace the Nikos Stage from June 27 through July 8 (opening June 28). Both casts arrived in Williamstown today for their first rehearsals on the bucolic Williams College campus in preparation for the runs of these exciting and unique productions at the Festival.
Rufous Hound to Make Stage Début in UTOPIA Cast this Summer
Artistic Directors Steve Marmion and Max Roberts today announce the full cast for their joint new writing project UTOPIA, which is making its world premiere at Live Theatre on Thursday 31 May, before transferring to Soho Theatre on Wednesday 20 June, with opening night on Thursday 21 June. UTOPIA will star: Tobi Bakare (Greenland National Theatre; Crawling In The Dark Almeida Theatre and Gone Too Far, Royal Court Theatre); Laura Elphinstone (Top Girls, Chichester Festival Theatre/Trafalgar Studios; A Month in the Country, Chichester Festival Theatre and the film adaptation of The History Boys); Rufus Hound making his theatre debut, is most well-known for his regular team captainship on Argumental, Celebrity Juice, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzc*cks; Pamela Miles (Darker Shores, Hampstead Theatre; Pygmalion, Theatre Royal Bath/Old Vic London and Lone Star Mark Three, Salisbury Playhouse); also making her stage debut Sophia Myles who is most well-known for her leading roles in film and TV including Tristan and Isolde and Spooks and David Whitaker one of the founders of Live Theatre, Newcastle, his theatre credits include The Pitmen Painters (Live Theatre/National Theatre/Broadway and West End) plus extensive credits for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Donmar Warehouse.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the final production of the 2012 Nikos Stage Season and an additional pre-season offering for the Festival's 58th, the second under Ms. Gersten's leadership. Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson (Pieces of April; WTF's The Ride Down Mount Morgan) and Bradley Cooper (Limitless; The Understudy at WTF) will return to Williamstown in The Elephant Man, written by Bernard Pomerance and directed by Scott Ellis, completing the Nikos Stage season and playing from July 25 - August 5, 2012.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced in Williamstown today the roster of Main Stage and Nikos Stage productions for the 2012 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) Season, the Festival's 58th season and second under Ms. Gersten's leadership. The Main Stage Season will kick off with a production of Oscar Wilde's classic The Importance of Being Earnest as you've never seen it before, directed by Tony Award-winner David Hyde Pierce (an alum of the Festival's training programs, making his WTF directorial debut), playing from June 26 - July 14, 2012. A new translation of Ivan Turgenev's A Month in the Country, directed by Tony Award-winner Richard Nelson (James Joyce's The Dead) has also been added to the Main Stage line-up, from August 1 - August 19, 2012. On the Nikos Stage, WTF veteran Jessica Stone (A Funny Thing...Forum) directs Neil Simon's comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers, playing from July 11 - July 22, 2012, and the World Premiere of Olivier Award-winner Katori Hall's (The Mountaintop) WHADDABLOODCLOT!!!, will run, in association with Signature Theatre, from August 8 - 19, 2012.
