Shakey Graves to Release 'Roll The Bones X' Double LP

Roll The Bones X, the special edition reissue celebrating the 10th anniversary of Shakey Graves’ breakout debut album Roll The Bones, is set for release on April 2 via Dualtone Records. Originally released in 2011 exclusively on Bandcamp, the forthcoming double LP release will now be available on all digital service providers for the first time.

After a limited five-week engagement with thousands of patrons participating in community conversations as part of ZACH Theatre's production of Anna Deveare Smith's Notes From the Field, ZACH is proud to take the conversation beyond the stage. Theatre, in this case, has opened dialogue and can be used to affect positive change. In partnership with the various Austin Community Leaders, ZACH remounted Notes From the Field for a special one-night-only performance including opening remarks by Mayor Steve Adler. Allowing for more in-depth conversations, the breakout sessions during the production will be extended with a reception and mixer to follow the show.

Black Fret Announces 2018 Grant Recipients At The Fifth Annual Black Fret Ball

This past Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, Austin nonprofit Black Fret awarded $250,000 to local musicians at the fifth annual Black Fret Ball at ACL Live at The Moody Theatre, resulting in over $1 million in grants awarded to Austin musicians over the last five years. The show featured live performances by 15 of the 20 grant nominees for 2018.
Bloomberg Philanthropies Selects 53 Cultural Orgs In Austin/New Orleans As Part Of $43M Training Program

Bloomberg Philanthropies today announced that 26 cultural organizations in Austin and 27 organizations in New Orleans have been selected to participate in the Arts Innovation and Management (AIM) program. A list of the organizations can be found here. The invitation-only program seeks to strengthen the organizational capacity and programming of small and midsize cultural organizations within seven U.S. cities: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Denver, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. More than 200 cultural organizations have been selected to participate and are being announced on a rolling basis throughout the summer and early fall.
