Two Slam Champions were crowned at the Australian Poetry Slam 2023 at Sydney Opera House on Sunday 8 October. Sixteen poets, two representing each state/territory, performed and competed for the title. Learn more about the winners here!

Inspired by the success from their safe drive-in performances of La bohème in the Fall, which heralded the return of live, in-person, opera to San Diego County since the start of the pandemic, and provided over 300 jobs to many, San Diego Opera has announced a Spring season of safe, socially-distanced, drive-in performances.

Hit Comedy CERTIFIED MALE Will Make Malta Debut
Certified Male will soon be produced for the first time in Malta by Exit Stage Right, known for previous successful productions such as I Am My Own Wife, and Every Brilliant Thing. Certified Male was penned by award-winning Australian writers and performers Scott Rankin and Glynn Nicholas. For its Malta debut, Certified Male will be co-directed by Nicholas himself alongside local theatre veteran Nanette Brimmer, and will star renowned performers Alan Montanaro, Alan Paris, Joseph Zammit and Stephen Oliver.

The new cast of West End's MAMMA MIA! appeared at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and has now moved to its new home at the Novello Theatre from 6 September 2012. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the full cast below, including Gary Milner, real-life wife Sally Ann Triplett, Neil Roberts as Harry Bright, James Gaddas as Bill Austin, Charlotte Wakefield as Sophie Sheridan, Andreas Gyllander as Sky, Abiola Ogunbiyi as Ali, Tasha Taylor Johnson as Lisa, Steven Oliver as Pepper and Liam Doyle as Eddie. ‘A Night For Jennifer - West End' is a one-off charity gala concert in aid of Jennifer Charity, taking place at the Lyric Theatre - Shaftesbury Avenue, in the heart of London's West End on Monday 31st October 2011. Jennifer Charity was founded by James and Graham Edgington, father and son, following the death of Jennifer in 1985. Graham was left as a single parent of a 16 month old baby and not only did he have the pressure of bringing up James alone, he had to find his own time to grieve and work a full time job. Twenty-five years later James has extensively researched widowed fathers and was alarmed at the lack of supportive organisations aimed at widowers in particular. There are exceptional bereavement charities and organisations helping single parents often single mothers but nothing for men. James decided that he wanted to set up this charity as a support mechanism for widowed fathers and of course, importantly, the children affected by these circumstances.
