HEAD OVER HEELS Comes to Children's Theatre Company in August
Children’s Theatre Company's 2023 Triple Threat production will be Head Over Heels (High School Edition). Featuring music and lyrics by The Go-Go’s, Head Over Heels was conceived by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), who also wrote the original book, and adapted by James Magruder (Triumph of Love).
ACT Announces New Artistic and Conservatory Employees

Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon announced the appointment of three new employees to fill key positions within the Artistic and Conservatory departments at San Francisco's premier nonprofit theater organization-Joy Meads as Director of Dramaturgy and New Works; Peter J. Kuo as Associate Conservatory Director; andDanyon Davis as Head of Movement.

MTC Education Department's Stargate Theatre Company to Stage DEEPER THAN SKIN This Weekend
The Stargate Theatre Company, a project of Manhattan Theatre Club's Education Department will perform an original piece, Deeper Than Skin, this Saturday, August 22nd at 3:00PM and 7:00PM at MTC- Stage II at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Each performance will last approximately forty-five minutes and will be followed by a talkback onstage with the performer-writers. After the 7:00PM talkback, there will be a brief reception in the theatre lobby.

Manhattan Theatre Club just presented their annual Spring Gala last night, at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). This year's gala was hosted by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski ('The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Nine) and featured special guest and Tony Award nominee for Airline Highway K. Todd Freeman, and performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including: Beautiful, Finding Neverland, Gigi, It Shoulda Been You, On The Town, Something Rotten!, and The Visit. Tonya Pinkins, Kathleen Chalfant & More Set for ITLP Benefit Reading, 2/9
Celebrated Broadway and Off-Broadway actors Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change, Radio Golf), Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit), Brian Murray (The Crucible, The Play About The Baby), Jay O. Sanders (Pygmalion, The Apple Family Plays) and Nilaja Sun (No Child) will do a Benefit reading for The International Theatre and Literacy Project (ITLP) itlp.org on Monday February 9th at 7:30pm at The Daryl Roth Theatre 101 East 15th Street, New York City. They will be joined by actors James Williams (Radio Golf, The Piano Lesson), Peter Francis James (The Merchant of Venice, On Golden Pond), Miriam A. VIGIL, Starring Stenborg and Gets, Plays Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre 9/20-11/22, Opens 9/29
Producers Angelo Fraboni and Daryl Roth have announced that the New York premiere of Vigil, written by Morris Panych and directed by Stephen DiMenna, will begin performances Sunday, September 20, at 3pm at the DR2 Theatre, 103 East 15 Street, east of Union Square. The opening is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm.
Review - Vigil: The Long Goodbye
There's very little I can recommend from Vigil, Morris Panych's two-person play which I'll assume was meant to be darkly humorous and quirky, but ends up a rather dreary and frequently ugly ninety-five minute affair.
