NYC High Schoolers Get Acknowledged as Roger Rees Awards Announces 2017-18 Nominees!
The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.
2016 Jimmy Awards Nominees Announced!
THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS has announced that 62 high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress at the eighth annual awards ceremony. The presentation will take place on Monday, June 27th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. Tickets can be purchased by visiting NHSMTA.COM or TICKETMASTER.COM and range from $39 to $89. Premium seats are $250.
2016 Roger Rees Awards Honor New York Students; Winners Announced!
The Broadway Education Alliance Inc. presented The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (formerly the Gershwin Awards) on Sunday, May 22 at The Beacon School in Manhattan. The two-hour showcase hosted by Tim Federle (co-writer of Tuck Everlasting) featured 35 students who had played leading roles at 26 high school located throughout the five boroughs of New York, Long Island and Westchester.
