Sharp & Fine, a contemporary dance company known for its original experiments in theatrical storytelling, has announced its newest work, IMAGINARY COUNTRY, premiering May 12 at Z Space in San Francisco. Featuring five performers and four musicians, Imaginary Country asks, What would happen if you could see the future?

A devised work for six performers and four musicians, Just Ahead is Darkness draws on the Japanese and Japanese-American tradition of remembering the dead to tell a poignant and magical tale about family, love, loss and the eternal return of ghosts. Just Ahead is Darkness runs February 7 - 9, 2020, Friday to Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m., at Z Space. Tickets are $20 - $35, and may be purchased online at zspace.org/darkness.
Liss Fain Dance Announces New Performance Installation At Z Space
Liss Fain Dance is pleased to announce its newest performance installation CLOSE THE DOOR SLOWLY. Set to a commissioned score by Oakland-based percussionist Jordan Glenn, and featuring an ensemble of six dancers, Close the Door Slowly runs May 3 5, 2019, Friday to Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m., at Z Space. Liss Fain Dance Presents 'I Don't Know and Never Will: A Recomposition'
Following the success of I Don't Know and Never Will in March, Liss Fain Dance returns this fall with a "recomposition" featuring a new installation design by Matthew Antaky, costumes by Mary Domenico and original music performed live by composer and percussionist Jordan Glenn alongside Nava Dunkelman and Jacob Felix Heule. I DON'T KNOW AND NEVER WILL: A RECOMPOSITION asks, What are the anchor points in our past that define us? The performance installation runs for three nights at 8 p.m., October 19 - 21, at Z Space in San Francisco. Tickets are $25 - $35 and may be purchased online at zspace.org.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Liss Fain Dance is proud to announce the world premiere of I DON'T KNOW AND NEVER WILL, an immersive performance installation inspired by letters from an extraordinarily articulate and expressive young man to his then-girlfriend, choreographer Liss Fain. Liss Fain Dance to Put on Free Preview at Z Space
Next month Liss Fain Dance will unveil her latest performance installation, KNOWN ONCE, based on personal stories collected in partnership with 826 Valencia, a San Francisco-based organization that supports writing and literacy in young people, and The Redwoods, a mixed-income residential community for seniors in Mill Valley.

In association with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Liss Fain Dance has announced the world premiere of TACIT CONSENT, an immersive performance installation with sound design and score by Dan Wool. Additional collaborators include installation designer Matthew Antaky and costume designer Mary Domenico.
