Vital Theatre Company To Launch First Lancaster Production

Vital Theatre Company has announced the launch of its first production in Lancaster County, the company's one-hour, six-actor 'The Wizard of Oz' The production is directed by Stephen Sunderlin and choreographed by Rebecca Frazier, based on original adaption and direction by Vital Theatre Company co-founder Michael Schloegl.

In February of this year, fledgling production company RKJB Entertainment burst onto the Austin stage with an original play with music, FOR THE LOVE OF MAHALIA. Hailed by critics and audiences alike, the new work starred the amazing Jacqui Cross, who virtually transformed into the Gospel great. This month marks their second production MOAN THEM BLUES, a one woman show featuring legendary Blues pioneer, Bessie Smith (Sonia Moore). Moore's rendition of Gimme A Pigfoot And A Bottle Of Beer stopped the show, I can scarcely wait to see a show that features such powerful talent. It's time our readers are introduced to Robert King, Jr and Jeremy Brown, the men behind these shows about such important icons of American culture.

Philip G. Bennett, Dean of Adult Education at Beowulf Alley Theatre, announces two adult education programs beginning in October, 2009. The first is an introductory symposium, Stanislavski's Ultimate Acting Technique (An introduction to Stanislavski's greatest discovery) on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 10:00am to 1:00pm. The course, for actors, directors, and instructors of acting, is called 'Stanislavski's Lost Term...And How to Use the Method of Physical Actions and Active Analysis.' The fee for this 3-hour course is $25 for active participants (wear comfortable clothing for movement) and $15 for observers.
