NYC Readers Jazz Awards Announced At Birdland Theater, November 24
Hot House Magazine, in partnership with Jazzmobile, is excited to announce the 6th New York City Readers Jazz Awards on Sunday, November 24th at New York City's famed Birdland Jazz Club, located at 315 West 44th Street. This greatly anticipated event will celebrate the vitality of the jazz art form by honoring the very finest musicians that this city has to offer. The public has voted and finalists are announced for each category below. On November 24th, one winner will be announced for each category and attendees will get the chance to witness rare musical collaborations between award winners, and presentations from some of the most important names in the industry.
Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival Begins August 17
The ninth Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival will be held on the Green on Saturday, August 17, from noon until 10:00 p.m. This year the annual free concert pays tribute to the 40th anniversary of the world's greatest jazz radio station WBGO and to the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival. An initiative by Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty, it is made possible by the generous support of a long list of sponsors.

Cool Jazz and a Tailgate Picnic Featured At Bickford Summer JazzFest, Plus Antoinette Montague Experience
The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum presents The Antoinette Montague Experience in concert on Thursday, July 26, as part of the popular Summer JazzFest, which combines food trucks and music for a fun summer evening. Antoinette Montague is an award-winning jazz and blues singer who performs all over the world, but has never forgotten her New Jersey roots. Joining Ms. Montague will be Ken Peplowski on sax and clarinet, “King” Solomon Hicks on guitar, Brandon McCune on piano, Melissa Slocum on bass, Bobby Sanabria on drums, and tap dancer AC Lincoln. The food truck picnic begins at 5:30 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m.
Savannah Music Festival 2018 Season Includes Programmatic Expansion, New Venues, Commissioned Works and All-Day Festival Finale
From March 29 through April 14, 2018, venues throughout Savannah's Historic District will be filled with the extensive concerts, recitals, dance parties, film, theatrical and multi-disciplinary productions that make up the 29th edition of the Savannah Music Festival (SMF). Operating in multiple venues for the first 16 days of the 2018 festival, the organization presents its most ambitious classical music programming to date, extensive world music offerings and a hard-hitting week of jazz and acclaimed Americana and folk music artists, in addition to theatrical productions and films. On April 14, the final day of SMF 2018, an all-day multi-stage event is scheduled for the newly-renovated event spaces at Trustees' Garden. The Bickford Theatre and Hot House Jazz Magazine salute the 2017 Fans Decision Jazz Awards with a holiday concert featuring Female Jazz Vocalist winner Champian Fulton and Male Rising Star winner King Solomon Hicks today, December 14. Joining the young stars will be the celebrated emcee for the awards ceremony, singer Antoinette Montague and surprise guests.
