Review: IN ALTO MARE al TEATRO MARCONI

Al Teatro Manzoni è tornato per altre tre repliche la pièce In Alto Mare, parte di un trittico scritto nel 1961 dal drammaturgo polacco Slawomir Mrozek. Questo testo, uno dei suoi primi per il teatro, possiede tutte le caratteristiche della sua sagacia profusa poi in tutte le sue opere. Il suo teatro ha sempre ondulato tra una fantasia al limite dell'assurdo, usata come arma per evidenziare le pecche di una società malata e la condanna di tali mali attraverso dei versi pungenti.

CWRU CPH MFA Program Offers Immersive Production Of THE SEAGULL

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to begin their season with a modern reimagining of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Chekhov's classic play about artistic rebellion, translated by Paul Schmidt, will star the MFA Class of 2020 and guests. Director Sarah Wansley's staging will shed light on the show's poetic realism. Press opening will be on October 9th at the Helen Theatre in Playhouse Square and the show will run from October 10th-October 20th. 
Cleveland Play House Appoints Artistic Directing Fellow

After a competitive national search, Cleveland Play House (CPH) selected Sarah Wansley to join the company for the 2018-19 season as the Artistic Directing Fellow. This Fellowship, designed to address inequities in the field, is for experienced female theatre directors with regional theatre leadership aspirations. Wansley will work alongside CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley and Associate Artistic Director Robert Barry Fleming learning theatre management, producing methods, and administration skills. She will also direct the fall CWRU/CPH MFA production, to be announced at a later date, and the New Ground Theatre Festival production of The Wolves, in the spring of 2019.

Polish Playwright Slawomir Mrozek Passes Away at 83

According to published reports, Polish playwright Slawomir Mrozek died on August 15, 2013. He was 83. Mrozek started out as a journalist and cartoonist and eventually went on to become one of Poland's leading playwrights and political critics.
Fox Valley Rep Announces FOREVER PLAID, Beginning 3/28

Fox Valley Repertory continues their 2013 theater series with the 1950's with Stuart Ross's hit, Forever Plaid. Finborough Theatre Wins Pearson Best Play Award

We are very pleased to announce that the Finborough Theatre's Pearson Playwright-in-Residence Anders Lustgarten has won the Catherine Johnson Award for Best Play for A Day at the Racists, which received its world premiere at the Finborough Theatre in March 2010. It is the third major award for the Finborough Theatre in the last three weeks, following its recent awards of The Empty Space Peter Brook Award 2010 and The Writers' Guild New Writing Encouragement Award 2010 for Artistic Director Neil McPherson.
